Today marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter for Yordania and her family.
After years of living in unsafe conditions, her old house has finally been torn down, and she and her four daughters have moved into a temporary home while construction begins.
This is the home our team will be building during our upcoming Xperience Humaniti trip.
Yordania’s journey hasn’t been easy. Her husband made the dangerous journey by boat to Puerto Rico and arrived safely. Sadly, it wasn’t long before he started a new relationship and now has another child. The last financial support he sent home was in March—a small payment of just 3,000 pesos. Since then, Yordania has been doing everything she can to provide for her daughters, often struggling to make ends meet.
For her family, a safe home wasn’t just out of reach—it felt impossible.
In just a few short weeks, that will begin to change.
Together with our local partners and community members, our team will help build more than four walls and a roof. We’ll help create a place where Yordania and her daughters can experience safety, stability, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
